Fit To Thrive Certification

Each designation is recognized with an IAFF F2T certificate once a specific level of training and education has been achieved. Certified F2T members must also meet specific continuing education credit (CEC) and F2T Challenge requirements to maintain their designation and F2T membership. Fit To Thrive Challenges

F2T Challenges are designed to support the on-going growth and development of all F2T members. They involve the completion of a practical activity that relies on the specific skills associated with 1 of 10 roles that may be assumed by F2T members. Specific details on each challenge can be found at the bottom of this page. Completed F2T Challenges must be submitted as part of the renewal process (2 for FPS, 1 for PFT and WFA). Details on Challenge submission will be shared in the near future.

For more information on F2T Challenges, please click HERE.

Fit To Thrive Community

F2T strives to build a community of wellness and fitness ambassadors across the United States and Canada. Sharing the accomplishments of individuals and departments is one way the F2T program aims to build that community. Upon submission of your Challenge, you will be asked if you would be willing to share it with the F2T community and be profiled as an individual on the F2T community webpage.

This implies that without sufficient fitness we could be forced to perform in a way that elevates our risk of getting hurt.

Exercise can undoubtedly help with the prevention of injuries, but it if the injuries typically incurred by a particular population (such as fire fighters) stem from high demand activities, increasing fitness may need to be emphasized to reduce the risk of getting hurt.

To move well within any context implies that sufficient fitness is present - preventing injuries and improving performance really are two sides of the same coin.
