Designing an effective resistance training program requires an appreciation for fundamental principles of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and motor learning. Knowing how people respond and adapt to specific loading parameters, body positions, task and environmental constraints, etc. can mean the difference between creating workouts that make fire fighters tired and those that make them better. This hands-on workshop will introduce a series of resistance training principles that can influence fire fighter health, injury risk and performance and provide an opportunity for participants to experience them first-hand.
